How to Change Nameservers

Adding your domain to Menterprise Publishing is the first step. You can read about that here.

Next up, to activate it, you must point the domain’s DNS to Menterprise by changing its nameservers. This process delegates control of your domain’s DNS records to Menterprise, allowing us to host your site and manage all records automatically. In other words, apart from adding the domain in your Publishing dashboard, the only setup needed is updating the nameservers.

Pointing your domain to Menterprise via nameservers is necessary to let Menterprise handle all DNS records for your site. When you change a domain’s nameservers to a new provider, all DNS records (like A, CNAME, MX, etc.) are served by that provider.

In our case, you’ll be using the nameservers provided in your Menterprise Publishing dashboard visible during onboarding:

or afterwards, in the Domains section, under each domain:

Instructions by Registrar

Quick note, wherever we say “Menterprise nameservers,” use the individual nameservers for each domain. These are shown in your Menterprise Publishing dashboard per domain.

Timeline

Once you save your new nameservers:

  • Propagation Time: Changes typically take 1–12 hours to fully propagate, though some updates appear in just a few minutes.
  • Status in Menterprise: Your domain will show as “awaiting validation” in your dashboard until propagation completes. Once done, it will appear green and active.
  • Continue Working: You can continue building pages, creating subdomains, and preparing your site while waiting. All work will go live instantly with the domain when propagation is finished.
  • Check Progress: Use [dnschecker.org](https://dnschecker.org/) to check if your nameservers have updated worldwide.
  • Email & Other Records: Nameserver changes will also delegate email/DNS control. If you had email previously configured you'll need to reach out to us here.
