What are "variables" in Menterprise Publishing?

There are multiple types of variables that can be used in Menterprise Publishing. Both live and creation-only variables and campaign/site specific variables. They all combine in different ways which is too much to explain in this article - with that said, read below about the different types and where to learn more about them!

Campaign & Subdomain variables

Campaign variables are, as the name suggests, variables that apply to all pages within a campaign.

Subdomain variables are variables that apply to all pages within a subdomain.

The syntax for both is as follows:

[[example]]

Surround the name of the variable (in this case "example") with double square brackets: [[ and ]]. That's it! Put as many as you like wherever you like in your content - just remember to define them. There are a multitude of ways to define them before AND after launching a campaign:

Note: Menterprise Content supports these variables in almost all modules.

Menterprise Publishing Spintax Syntax (MPSS) variables

MPSS variables are creation-time only; not live like Campaign and Subdomain variables (however, using the campaign replacements, we can basically use them like they are live afterwards).

MPSS provides some serious tools for lots of data, e.g massive product networks or location networks.
